ID.me Overview
Protecting your information is our top priority. That is why the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) is pleased to announce the implementation of ID.me Single Sign-On (SSO) for accessing the DC Paid Family Leave Benefits Administration System (PFLBAS).
As of Thursday, September 11, 2025, all users will sign in to the PFLBAS using the new ID.me SSO system.
Why we are making this change
- Security first: Your account will be protected by multi-factor authentication (MFA), an extra step that helps stop unauthorized access and prevent fraud.
- One login, less hassle: With SSO, you will use one set of credentials to access the PFLBAS, so there is no need to juggle multiple usernames and passwords.
- Trusted technology: Many services, including the IRS and Social Security Administration, already use ID.me. If you have an ID.me account, you may be able to use it here too.

Frequently asked questionsn
Do I need a new account if I already use ID.me elsewhere, like IRS or SSA?
Often, no. Try signing in with the same email and password. If ID.me needs more information, it will prompt you.
What if I forget my ID.me password?
Use ID.me’s password reset or live chat support.
Why do I have to enter a code when I sign in?
That is MFA. It is an added layer of protection to keep your account safe. If you cannot receive the code, you can use a recovery code.
Will DOES staff be able to help with ID.me account issues?
DOES can answer questions about your benefits, but cannot reset ID.me passwords or change account details. Please contact ID.me for account help.
